Warangal: Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) 14th Division Women Development Committee members on Sunday staged a protest against Congress party 14th division president Syed Inteyaz for threatening and using abusive language against them.

Women Development Committee President Pitta Saroja, member secretary Akula Vanaja, and about ten committee members approached the Enumamula police and complained against Inteyaz. They alleged that Inteyaz was threatening to dissolve the committee and form a new one with his supporters. Inteyaz claimed that Wardhannapet MLA K R Nagaraju had asked him to dissolve the present committee and appoint a new one.

Speaking to the media, Saroja alleged that Inteyaz was abusing women members and even threatening them. “For years women development committee members have been working in coordination irrespective of party affiliation. But Inteyaz for his selfish gain was trying to break the committee and bring in his supporters to take control of the committee,”she alleged.

The committee members accused Enumamula inspector of supporting Inteyaz and not taking action against him.

Meanwhile, Enumamula inspector A Raghavendra said the women development committee members met him and complained against Inteyaz, but since they did not give a written complaint, he could not act against him.
