Mancherial: Elected representatives and residents boycotted a grama sabha in protest against the delay in commencing developmental works despite the government sanctioning funds for Bokkalagutta village in Mandamarri mandal on Saturday. The meeting was part of the ongoing Pragati Palana-Pragati Pranalika programme.
Ward members and villagers expressed disinterest in participating in a meeting meant to discuss the progress and challenges of the village. They said the developmental projects had not taken off despite funds being sanctioned by the government. They boycotted the meeting in protest against the delay in commencing the works.
The residents requested officials to take steps to begin the developmental projects. They regretted that the village was grappling with a slew of challenges. They sought the construction of internal roads, side drains and other infrastructure facilities.
