Watch: 10k run flags off on Durgam Cheruvu bridge for first time
Scores of enthusiasts lined up to participate in Hyderabad's first marathon on the facility that includes a cable-stayed bridge. The event which coincided with National Girl Child Day had 5K and 10 K Run and was flagged off.
Hyderabad: The early hours of Sunday saw Durgam Cheruvu bridge, which has emerged as a major infrastructure project and pride of Hyderabad, turning into a beehive of activity.
Scores of enthusiasts lined up to participate in Hyderabad’s first marathon on the facility that includes a cable-stayed bridge. The event which coincided with National Girl Child Day had 5K and 10K Run and was flagged off by MA&UD Principal Secretary, Arvind Kumar. He also took part in the run and encouraged hundreds of runners.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Kumar said Hyderabad has been moving fast on the path of progress and emerging as top ranker among the world’s best cities. The marathon today was organised not only to promote the tourism aspects of city but also held in association with voluntary organisations to provide more impetus to girl child education.
IT and Industries Principal Secretary, Jayesh Ranjan and others participated in the event which also had a Divyang Run.
