Hyderabad: Members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi staged a walkout from the Assembly on Friday during the Budget speech presented by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. They protested over unfulfilled promises of the Congress government and non-allocation of budget for their implementation in the latest budget.
BRS legislators tucked flowers behind their ears shortly after the Deputy Chief Minister commenced his speech as a mark of protest and raised slogans during the speech. They shouted “fraud, fraud” while referring to the promise of providing one tola of gold, creation of two lakh jobs and other assurances made earlier. With the budget speech ignoring the pending promises, they staged a walkout.
The protest continued outside the House, where the BRS MLAs staged a sit-in at the Assembly entrance and raised slogans against the budget. They alleged that the government failed to address public issues and did not honour its commitments.
