Rajanna-Sircilla: Amidst the ongoing protests by constables and their families in the State, an Armed Reserve constable fell at the feet of Sircilla Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan pleading for justice for the constables.

Armed Reserve constables attached to the Telangana Special Police (AR) 17th Battalion, Sardapur, were staging a protest and dharna at the Commandant’s Office on Saturday, raising slogans against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Congress party.

Hearing about the protest, the SP visited the Battalion. As he was interacting with the agitating cops, one of the constables fell at his feet pleading for justice.

Though the SP and his gunmen pulled him up, he again touched Mahajan’s feet, crying and reeling out the misery that constables were being forced to suffer.

Many of the protesting constables alleged that senior officials were forcing them to engage in labour work, apart from being forced to work in the houses of higher officials.

Demanding the government to implement uniform duties and the promised ‘Ek Police’ system across the State, they wanted the government to follow the system being implemented in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
