Hyderabad: It was a surprise indeed. To get underground water four feet deep in middle of Hyderabad.
While there was a raging discussion on whether it was underground water jetting out or the earth mover operator damaging an underground water pipe, the issue engaged public attention. The finding of water went viral on social media.
The HYDRAA has taken up some digging works as part of restoration of Bathukamma Kunta in Amberpet. As the officials commenced the work and digging was taken up, excitement built up among the personnel involved in the assignment, on finding water.
The water started surfacing when a pit was hardly dug for few feet and the excitement was at finding the ground water at such small depth.
Initial reports attributed the presence of water to bursting of an underground water pipe, but later, the Hyderabae Metro Water Works and Sewerage Board officials rushed to the spot to certify that there was no underground water pipe in Bathukamma kunta.
It being summer time and denizens worried about the drinking water supplies, the finding of water just four feet underground has become a raging topic of discussion.
