Watch: Massive fire guts pharma cold storage unit in Annaram, no casualties reported
A massive fire engulfed Gubba Pharma Cold Storage in Annaram village, Sangareddy district, on Wednesday night, destroying much of the facility. Firefighters from three districts responded swiftly to contain the blaze and protect nearby industrial units.
Sangareddy: A massive fire broke out at Gubba Pharma Cold Storage in Annaram village of Gummadidala mandal on Wednesday night, gutting a major portion of the facility. The flames spread rapidly throughout the storage unit, prompting a large-scale firefighting operation.
Fire tenders were rushed to the spot from Sangareddy, as well as from the neighbouring Medak and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts. Firefighters have been battling the blaze for over an hour to prevent it from spreading to adjacent industrial units. Despite their efforts, a significant portion of the cold storage was reduced to ashes.
Brick kiln workers residing near the facility fled to safety as the fire intensified. The cold storage housed a variety of pharmaceutical products from companies based in the Sangareddy district.
No casualties have been reported so far. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
