Medak: Heavy rains lashed Medak town on Thursday morning, leaving several parts of the district headquarters submerged. Low-lying residential areas were inundated, and normal life came to a standstill as vehicles struggled to move through flooded roads.
Medak town recorded 17.5 cm of rainfall in just five hours between 8.30 am and 1.30 pm. Surrounding mandals including Havelighanpur, Papannapet, Ramayampet, Narsapur, Kowdipally, Kulcharam and Toopran also received heavy showers.
Several areas in neighbouring Sangareddy and Siddipet districts experienced moderate to heavy rainfall. Only a fortnight ago, a heavy downpour had caused severe damage to property, farmlands and roads in Medak district.
