Warangal: Heavy rains that lashed Warangal since Sunday morning threw normal life out of gear, with several low-lying areas submerged and traffic movement severely affected. Motorists waded through knee-deep water, struggling to navigate inundated roads.
Rainwater entered houses in many colonies, forcing residents to shift to safer areas. The situation turned worse in Kareemabad and divisions 32, 33 and 39, as overflowing water from Peddavagu flooded roads and residential colonies.
Two TSRTC buses were stuck under water at a Road Under Bridge (RUB), disrupting traffic. Police rushed to the spot and safely evacuated the passengers.
At Hanamkonda junction, traffic came to a grinding halt on Ambedkar Bhavan road and Tirumala junction, adding to the chaos. Shopkeepers complained that water entered their establishments, leaving them anxious over possible stock damage and financial losses.
