Hyderabad: Much to the embarrassment of the Congress, posters and flexi banners surfaced at major junctions and bus stops across Hyderabad city, targeting it’s government ahead of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge’s tour on Friday.

The banners highlighted how the Congress government unleashed violence, injustice, irregularities, and atrocities against people in violation of its pre poll promises in the State.

Kharge, who arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday, is scheduled to participate in various programmes organised across the city.

In a clear counter to the Congress’s national slogan of “saving the Constitution,” the posters and banners explained how the party’s government was “destroying the Constitution” and harassing people in Telangana. They mocked the Congress’ public stance on social justice and constitutional values.

Some of the sarcastic slogans on the banners included: “Jai Bapu, Violence is our weapon,” “Jai Bhim, SCs/STs are our goal,” and “Jai Samvidhan, Constitution is of no importance to us.” They also carried the pictures of the police excess on protestors, a handcuffed tribal farmer from Lagacherla brought to the hospital, and bulldozers razing homes of the poor despite having court orders.

GHMC officials have been deployed to remove the posters and flexi banners which are said to have been displayed overnight.
