Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS leader V Srinivas Goud on Tuesday said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was neglecting communities like the Goud community who were practicing traditional occupations, without implementing any benefits promised to the Backward Classes (BC) communities.
The Chief Minister was instead indulging in rhetoric against former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao round-the-clock, even on the birth anniversary of Sarvai Papanna Goud, he said.
Addressing mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan, Srinivas Goud said the Chief Minister had misled the Goud community during the elections, promising 25 per cent reservation in wine shops allocations and 42 per cent for BCs overall, but had done nothing after coming to power. He also charged the Congress government with failing to pay ex-gratia to 700 deceased toddy tappers over the last 20 months.
On reservations, the BRS leader countered Revanth Reddy’s claim that Chandrashekhar Rao had capped quotas at 50 per cent.
“KCR fought for overall 62 per cent reservation. It was the Congress leaders who went to the Supreme Court and obstructed it,” he said, demanding that Revanth Reddy prove his sincerity by implementing 42 per cent BC reservations.
