Water released into Kudavelly after Dubbak MLA’s request to Irrigation Minister
Dubbak MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy urged the Irrigation department to release water into Kudavelly Vagu, supporting both local celebrations and irrigation needs
Siddipet: Irrigation department released water into Kudavelly vagu from Mallanna Sagar reservoir hours after Dubbak MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy met Irrigation N Uttam Kumar Reddy and submitted a representation in this regard in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Since the stream went bone dry at a time when Kudavelly jathara is being celebrated on the banks of the stream, the Dubbak MLA requested the government to release the water.
Prabhakar Reddy said that the water will also be used to irrigation needs of Yasangi.
The MLA also urged Uttam Kumar Reddy to release water to the Ramayampet canal and Chinna Shankarampet canal to meet the yasangi needs of Medak and Siddipet districts. Reddy thanked the irrigation minister for their quick response.
