Water supply to be disrupted in several parts of Hyderabad from January 2 to 3

Emergency repairs at the Bommakal Pumping Station will disrupt drinking water supply in several parts of Hyderabad from Friday afternoon to early Saturday. HMWSSB said the 19-hour disruption is due to a leak in the Godavari water supply pumping main.

Hyderabad: Emergency repairs to address a leak at the pumping main near the Srinivas Nagar Bridge at the Bommakal Pumping Station, under the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme supplying the Hyderabad metropolitan area, will lead to an interruption in drinking water supply in several localities. The supply will be disrupted from Friday 1 pm to Saturday 6 am.

The areas which will be affected include S R Nagar, Sanathnagar, Borabanda, SPR Hills, Erragadda, Banjara Hills, Vengal Rao Nagar, Yellareddyguda, Somajiguda, Fatehnagar, Kukatpally, Bhagyanagar, Vivekananda Nagar, Yellamma Banda, Moosapet, Bharat Nagar, Motinagar, Gayatri Nagar, Babanagar, KPHB, Balaji Nagar, Hasmathpet, Chintal, Suchitra, Jeedimetla, Shapurnagar, Gajularamaram, Suraram, Adarsh Nagar, Bhagat Singh Nagar, Jagadgirigutta and Ushodaya section, Alwal, Father Balayya Nagar, Venkatapuram, Machabollaram, Defense Colony, Vajpayee Nagar, Yapral, Chanakyapuri, Gautham Nagar and Sainathpuram section, Charlapalli, Saibaba Nagar and Radhika sections, Kondapur, Doons and parts of Madhapur, Hafeezpet and Miyapur, Kompally, Gundlapochampally, Thumkunta, Jawahar Nagar, Dammaiguda and Nagaram section, Nizampet, Bachupally, Pragathi Nagar, Gandi Maisamma, Tellapur and Bollaram sections, MES, Trishul Lines, Gunrock, Hakimpet Air Force, Secunderabad Cantonment, and AIIMS Bibinagar, Aleru (Bhuvanagiri) and Ghanpur (Medchal Shamirpet).


HMWSSB, in an official statement on Friday, said the repair work is scheduled from 1 pm on Friday (January 2) and will continue up to 6 am on January 3. The water supply disruption will continue for 19 hours.
