Hyderabad: In the film industry, a friendly gesture or a public appearance together can quickly turn into a full-blown rumour. This time, it was Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush who found themselves in the middle of online gossip.
Over the past few days, social media was buzzing with claims that the two actors might be dating. Some even went as far as saying that Mrunal’s Spotify playlist was “proof” of their relationship. The talk grew louder after Dhanush was spotted at the Son of Sardaar 2 event, where Mrunal was also present.
In a recent interview with Only Kollywood, Mrunal decided to address the speculation. She said she found the rumours funny and added, “We are friends. He is a good friend of mine. Dhanush attended the Son of Sardaar 2 event only after Ajay Devgn invited him. No one should misunderstand that.”
The buzz around her personal life comes at a time when Dhanush has already been in the news for his private matters. In 2022, the actor and his wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth announced their separation after 18 years of marriage, and officially divorced in 2024. Since then, Dhanush has kept his personal life away from the public eye, focusing on his films and music.
Both actors have busy schedules ahead. Mrunal is working on several films, including Dacoit, Hai Jawani Tho Ishq Hona Hai, Tum Ho Tho, Pooja Meri Jaan and AA22. Dhanush is gearing up for projects like Idly Kadai, Tere Ishk Mein and D54.
