Hyderabad: IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday urged actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood not to get deterred by the Income Tax raids that were conducted recently at his residence. The TRS working president said such I-T and ED raids were carried out on the actor because some individuals were scared about their future in the event of the actor’s entry into politics.
Speaking at a programme to felicitate Covid-19 warriors organised by Telangana Social Impact Group (TSIG), the CSR wing of the State government, the Minister assured Sonu Sood of all possible support. “They are worried that they may suffer politically if he comes into politics,” he said.
Rama Rao called Sonu Sood the real hero and urged him not to get worried by such developments. “Continue the stellar work that you have taken up as a celebrity. We are all with you,” he said. Speaking later, Sonu Sood praised Rama Rao for helping the needy in Telangana not only during the Covid pandemic but also on a regular basis. The actor pointed out that he had to put in a lot of effort in all the States to help desperate patients and individuals who needed help but did not have to do much in Telangana due to the work already being done by leaders like Rama Rao.
“If you have a leader like KTR, then I don’t have to work hard to help the poor. Recently, I called a hospital in Hyderabad for treatment of a kid but was informed that KTR’s office has already reached out to them,” Sonu Sood said.
