Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A WhatsApp group brought relief to a road accident victim by raising funds Rs 4 lakh required for his expensive treatment. The victim was discharged from a hospital in Hyderabad and returned to Tiryani mandal headquarters on Tuesday.
Jungoni Ashok Goud, Mulamatam Shiva Prasad and Kotthapalli Ramesh, who operate a group on instant messaging application, posted a message about the pitiable condition of Nuthi Ranjith, who suffered brain hemorrhage when he fell off his motorbike recently. They managed to raise Rs 4 lakh donated by members of the group and helped Ranjith in undergoing the costly treatment performed in a private hospital of Hyderabad.
“Several members belonging to several parts of the State responded to the post and generously donated funds in a single day for the cause. We came forward to help Ranjith as he comes from a financially weak background family and his father is confined to bed as he was diagnosed with paralysis 20 years back,” Ashok told ‘Telangana Today.’
Ashok, Shiva Prasad and Ramesh, all belonging to Tiryani mandal centre, expressed gratitude to those who contributed donations for extending support to the youngster. They were thanked by the parents of Ranjith for coming to his rescue. The parents said that the gesture saved their son’s life. They said they would be indebted to the three and members of the WhatsApp group forever.
Meanwhile, Tiryani Sub-Inspector P Rama Rao handed over 50 kg rice and other essential commodities to Ranjith by visiting the latter’s home. He appreciated the operators and members of the group for raising funds, helping the victim to undergo the treatment. He told users of the instant messaging platform and social networking sites to draw inspiration from the trio.
