Khammam: BJP leadership in Telangana should come clear on the promise the party made in its 2014 Parliament elections manifesto where it claimed to offer two crore jobs annually, demanded Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
Going by the promise the BJP made, the Central government should have offered around 12 crore jobs across the country so far. The BJP party leaders should answer whether the party was able to deliver the promise. If so, they have to put forth the figures in public domain, the Minister demanded.
Ajay Kumar speaking to press persons here on Saturday noted that with the privatisation of public sector entities across the nation, the BJP government at the Centre was set to render thousands of employees jobless and throw their families onto the roads.
The BJP leaders in the State, who were questioning the TRS government over job creation in the State, should clear their stand on the fate of thousands of employees who were going to lose their jobs due to the privatisation, he posed. The TRS working president and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao recently came out with clear cut figures and a break-down of recruitment in various government departments during the past six years.
Similarly, the TRS nominee for Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates MLC Constituency election, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy has also presented the facts related to creation of job opportunities to unemployed youth in the State, he noted. Rajeshwar Reddy even expressed his readiness to withdraw from the MLC elections if the opposition parties were able to prove him wrong. The same should be emulated by the BJP leaders in the State, he said.
35,839 jobs by TSPSC in just 6 years
Ajay Kumar said despite being a small and newly formed State, Telangana was in a much better place than the BJP ruled States like Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and others in terms of job creation to the unemployed youth. TSPSC filled up 35,839 jobs in just six years of period while the Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board, Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Recruitment Board and others filled up thousands of vacancies, he explained.
Congress should own the responsibility for the unemployment rate in the country. Both the BJP and the Congress were acting recklessly and making false and baseless allegations against the TRS government. The NDA government led by BJP has established 170 Medical Colleges across the country while sanctioning seven Medical Colleges but not a single college was sanctioned to Telangana, the Minister alleged. He reminded that Niti Aayog also recommended to grant Rs 20,000 crore for Mission Bhagiratha but the Central government failed to do so but the BJP leaders in the State were not in a position to question the Centre for the injustice being meted out to Telangana State.
