Hyderabad: Gone are the days when people would only groove to international songs like ‘Gangnam Style’, ‘Despacito’, ‘Shape of You’, ‘Waka Waka’ or Hindi songs such as ‘Dilbar’, ‘Kala Chashma’ or even Tamil hits like ‘Rowdy Baby’ and ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’.
Telugu songs are all the rage across the globe right now, thanks to Icon Star Allu Arjun. The craze might have started with ‘Butta Bomma’, ‘Ramuloo Ramulaa’ and ‘Samajavaragamana’ from the actor’s 2020 film ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’, but songs from his latest film ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ like ‘Srivalli’, ‘Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava’, and ‘Saami Saami’ are breaking all language barriers.
These songs are now finding a place in the hearts of the global audience. People who don’t even understand a single word of Telugu are lip-syncing and dancing to Telugu songs like experts.
The number of people making Instagram Reels and TikTok videos on these songs is unbelievable. From international cricketers like Australian batsman David Warner and West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo to Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan to Tanzanian content creator Kili Paul, no one seems to be unaware of these super hit songs.
While it’s common to see South Indians groove to Hindi songs, we are now seeing a change in the equation. The entire nation would once dance to Madhuri Dixit’s ‘Dhak Dhak Karne Laga’, but now the actor was seen grooving to her current favourite song ‘Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava’ in an Instagram Reel. Even Hindi singer Neha Kakkar went gaga about the song and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s killer moves.
So, be it the catchy lyrics, brilliant music, or the sensuous voice of Indravathi Chauhan in the case of ‘Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava’, or the addictive hook-steps and genius choreography in all the Telugu dance videos, no one seems to get enough of them.
We seriously cannot wait for another Telugu song to go viral! Which one do you think will?
