Niharika B, who previously worked as Mining Engineer in Australia, set her own startup called WildBerry Organics in Hyderabad.

Started during 2020 lockdown, WildBerry Organics offers over 50 organic food varieties that includes Ragi Cookie (Veggie Egg option), Ragi Hot Chocolate, organic handmade chocolates, Kombucha, Tepache etc., but Kombucha, which is known for its health benefits, turned out to be their star product.

“I was fascinated by Kombucha, which was a pleasant discovery during travel (in pre-covid world). So we wanted to try making it ourselves and the lockdown time was perfect for it to be kick started. After much research about fermented food and drinks and their health benefits, we made a batch and were thrilled by the positive results.” She said.

“Every week we try a new flavour for our kombucha based on the fresh produce available. Pomegranate, Pineapple, Kiwi, Beetroot, Ginger, Lemon, Spirit of Xmas are some of the favourite flavours we have offered so far,” she added.

WildBerry Organics’ unique selling point was their use of organic ingredients and follow green practices such as using tea leaves and not tea bags while brewing the ‘cha’ of kombucha, using a mix of ‘Bioenzyme pulp’ and herbal dish wash to clean the glass bottles and sun dry them and also they accept returns of all packaging including cleaned bottles.

In 2021, they have partnered with Maati ecostore to offer sustainable gifting options – eco friendly and plastic free products including wooden toys, organic handmade chocolates, handmade soaps, etc.
