Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Chief Wildlife Warden Elusing Meru urged the public to be cautious of the tigers moving in the forests. He along with field director to Kawal Tiger Reserve S Shantharam distributed face masks to residents of Itikalapahad village in Sirpur (T) mandal on Sunday.
Meru said that both resident and transit tigers were moving in the forests and agriculture fields in search of territory and partners for mating. He requested the public to wear face masks for self-protection. He advised them not to roam alone and to move in groups containing 20 members in the farms to harvest the cotton crop.
The warden instructed the officials to take steps to monitor the movement of a tiger which killed a woman and attacked a farmer in Kagaznagar division on Sunday and to prevent human loss. He asked them to ensure smooth passage for the migrant tigers and safety for resident ones.
