Will cut off tongue of CM’s critics, threatens Jagga Reddy
Jagga Reddy said if anyone criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, their tongues would be cut off, whether it was BRS working president KT Rama Rao or former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Hyderabad: For TPCC working president T Jagga Reddy, the ideal response to any sort of criticism is to catch hold of the critic, whoever that is, and to chop off the tongue that speaks against the Congress.
In fact, on Saturday, the former MLA said if anyone criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, their tongues would be cut off, whether it was BRS working president KT Rama Rao or former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Jagga Reddy alleged that the BRS was “instigating” Congress party activists and trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in Hyderabad.
“If there is any public issue, they can take up the matter with the government. But if they criticise our Chief Minister, Congress workers will catch them and cut off their tongues,” he said.
The senior Congress leader’s blatant threats are being shared widely on social media, with many pointing out that there was nothing surprising in it, since Revanth Reddy himself had a history of such language. They are also sharing old videos, one of which shows Revanth Reddy taking objection to the police entering his house. He abuses them and threatens that they would be kicked out.
“Why are you stepping into the house and who gave you this power. Is the ACP around? I will speak to him,” Revanth Reddy is seen saying, while in another video, he is seen arguing with a police officer for stopping his vehicle on the road. “Why did you stop the vehicle and what is your problem? Make a phone call to Commissioner, does he have any sense?” he asks.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, while addressing media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, warned that BRS leaders should mind their language. Any attempts to create law and order issues would not be tolerated and stern action would be initiated against the offenders, he said.
In reply to a question over the deteriorating law and order situation in the State, the Minister asked whether any murders or rapes took place. Why was there such a hue and cry over law and order, he asked.
