Hyderabad: A woman was murdered allegedly by her husband in Indrasena Reddy Nagar in Badangpet in Meerpet here late on Thursday.

The victim was identified as N Kavitha (35), a native of Deverakonda mandal in Nalgonda who lost her first husband had a second marriage with one Srikanth Reddy from Gudur in Kandukur of Ranga Reddy district.

According to the police, the couple was having frequent fights over trivial issues for the last seven months. It is suspected that after one such argument, Reddy strangled Kavitha to death.

After allegedly killing his wife, an anxious Reddy called Kavitha’s sister Vijaya and informed her that she was found lying motionless on the bed. When Vijaya rushed to their house and checked, she noticed ligature mark on Kavitha’s neck and raised suspicion on Reddy.

On receiving information, the Meerpet police reached the spot and take up investigation. Srikanth Reddy was taken into custody.
