Hyderabad: A woman was brutally killed by her husband at Shadnagar in the city outskirts on Saturday night.
According to the police, Potala Shobha Rani, a resident of Devunipally village in Shadnagar, was married ten years ago to Ranjeet of Koyalakonda village in Mahbubnagar district. The couple has two children, the youngest being three years old.
However, since the last couple of years, Shobha reportedly came in contact with one Narsimhulu, who is from her village and maintained a relationship.
On coming to know about it, Ranjeet used to frequently quarrel with his wife, and due to it, Shobha, a few months ago, returned to her parents’ house along with her two children.
On Saturday, Ranjeet called up Shobha over phone and asked her to meet him at Shadnagar to discuss an issue. It is suspected Ranjeet took Shobha to a secluded place and killed her by throwing a boulder on her head in front of their son. He later left the body and went away, also leaving the child at the spot.
On Sunday, the local villagers who noticed the woman lying dead and the child crying alerted the police, who reached the spot. The police shifted the body to a postmortem hospital. A case is registered.
