Woman arrested for killing husband in Kukatpally
Kukatpally police arrested a woman for allegedly killing her husband and trying to pass it off as suicide. The case took a turn after the autopsy report revealed death due to strangulation, following which the woman reportedly confessed during questioning.
Hyderabad: A woman was arrested by the Kukatpally police for allegedly killing her husband and later trying to portray it as a case of suicide.
According to the police, the woman, Jaggavarapu Brahma Gnana Prasanna (43), was married to J Sudheer Reddy and the couple lived in an apartment in Kukatpally.
On December 24, the woman allegedly strangled her husband with a scarf and killed him. She later told the relatives of Sudheer Reddy that he had committed suicide. Based on a complaint, the police registered a case of suspicious death and sent the body for autopsy. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the relatives for final rites.
In mid-January, the police received the autopsy report stating that Sudheer Reddy died of strangulation. Based on the report, the police began an investigation and took Prasanna into custody. During questioning, she admitted to killing her husband, alleging that he was harassing her. The woman was arrested and remanded.
