Ramgarh: A woman died while undergoing treatment a day after the deaths of her two sons, with authorities suspecting food poisoning behind the deaths, officials said. Ramgarh District Civil Surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said the medical team visited Sudi village in Patratu block on Friday to investigate the deaths and suspected that food poisoning could be the cause.
However, doctors have not yet reached any conclusion, he added. On Thursday, three members of a family — two minor brothers, aged 15 and 10, and their mother — fell sick and were rushed to the Sadar Hospital after their condition deteriorated.
The two boys died soon after being admitted to the hospital, while their mother was referred to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi in critical condition. She died there while undergoing treatment. According to villagers, the family had called a traditional healer for treatment three days ago instead of visiting a hospital or consulting a doctor.
