Woman dies, friend injured after rashly driven car hits their scooty

Hyderabad: A young woman died, and her friend was injured after the scooter they were riding on was hit by a rashly driven car at Koheda in Abdullapurmet on the city outskirts on Thursday night.

The incident occurred when the victim, Spandana (19), was riding pillion on the scooter of her friend Sai Kumar when the car, which went out of control due to rash driving, crashed into their vehicle on the service road.

According to the police, both fell off the scooter and Spandana died on the spot, and Sai suffered multiple grievous injuries. He was shifted to the hospital for treatment.

The Abdullapurmet police have registered a case and started an investigation. They said that speeding and rash driving by the car driver led to the accident. The driver has been taken into custody.
