Peddapalli: In a shocking incident, a 26-year-old mentally-challenged woman, Srikonda Revathi, died in a monkey attack in Dharmaram mandal headquarters.
According to local residents, Revathi was combing her hair in front of her rented house when a group of monkeys rushed into the house, and attacked her on Monday. Shocked by the sudden attack, she fell on the ground and died on the spot. Locals suspect Revathi may have suffered a heart attack and died.
A native of Kagazhnagar of Kumurambheem-Asifabad district, Revathi leaves behind two sons and a daughter. She was divorced by her husband as her mental condition was allegedly not stable.
Three years ago, Revathi’s parents migrated to Dharmaram and were eking out a livelihood as daily wage labourers. After the death of their daughter, they went back to Kagaznagar. Locals pooled in money to shift the body to Kagaznagar.
