Hyderabad: A woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her house at Vattepally in Falaknuma on Sunday night. It is yet to be known if it was a suicide or murder, police said.
The victim, identified as Shireen Fathima (30), who lost her husband two years ago, was staying in a rented house. to which she had recently shifted along with her children.
Police said Fathima was found dead with marks on her neck and no other external injuries. Her family members, who found the body, alerted the police. Preliminary investigation indicated no sexual assault, with the police suspecting that the marks around her neck could be ligature marks due to suicide or somebody strangling or throttling her to death.
“We are investigating the case from all possible angles including rape and murder. More details will be revealed in the autopsy report,” an official said, adding that relatives had not raised any suspicion on anyone. The body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital morgue and was handed over to the family after autopsy.
