GHMC Corporator Mettu Kumar Yadav interacting with patients at government hospital in Patancheru on Tuesday.
Sangareddy: Barely two weeks after a Cesarean surgery was performed by doctors on Dappu Mamatha at the government hospital in Patancheru, she got infections on her stitches. As the wounds did not heal on time, the doctors at the hospital delayed her discharge.
As the doctors were not responding properly, the woman’s father Balaraj, a native of Inole village, complained to BRS leader and GHMC Corporator Mettu Kumar Yadav who visited the hospital on Tuesday.
After examining the hospital premises and talking to the doctors, Kumar Yadav said Mamatha was not given proper treatment despite repeated complaints. He further said that the doctors were not taking proper care even after noticing infection at her stitches.
When Kumar spoke to superintendent of the hospital Dr Srinivas Reddy, he allegedly did not answer properly to the issue raised by the Corporator. The GHMC Corporator, who went around the hospital and interacted with the patients, said they were not being served quality food, and that new mothers were not given milk and eggs. He said the dinner was being served at 9.30 pm which was to be served at 7 pm. Though Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha hails from Sangareddy district, Yadav said that the doctors and staff in the hospital were acting negligently. He demanded stern action against the contractor who was serving the meal in the hospital.
The BRS leader said that the previous government had provided much better treatment, food and facilities when T Harish Rao was health minister. He said a massive protest would be organised on the premises of the hospital if the staff did not mend their ways.
