Woman gets jail term for attacking a man in courtroom in Kothagudem
Kodali Narmada of Paloncha sentenced to one and a half years in prison

Kothagudem: The First Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate A Sucharita on Friday sentenced a woman to one and a half years in prison for entering the courtroom illegally and attacking a man. As per the details of the case, on February 28, 2017, as the principal senior civil judge was conducting a call work of cases in the court, a woman Kodali Narmada of Venkateswara Colony in Paloncha suddenly burst into the courtroom.
She beat up a man from Yellandulapadu of Paloncha mandal, Guguloth Mansingh by grabbing his shirt collar and scolded him while he was attending a court hearing. This incident happened in front of the judge hearing the case and several lawyers present in the court freed Mansingh from Narmada. Following the directions of the then principal senior civil judge Jamaleswara Rao, the court superintendent Rashid Ali Khan on March 1, 2017 lodged a complaint with the Kothagudem one-town police.
The then Sub-Inspector G Tirupathi registered a case and after investigation, filed a charge sheet in the court. Seven witnesses were examined in the case.
The accused Narmada was found guilty and sentenced to one and a half years in prison and a fine of Rs 2,000 under various sections of IPC. The prosecution was conducted by APP, Nagalakshmi, assisted by court nodal officer G Praveen Kumar, liaison officer SK Abdul Ghani and court duty officer Dotoju Kamesh.
