Woman gives birth to baby girl weighing 5-kg in Warangal
Doctor said that Bodduna Jhansi (24), wife of Rajesh, of Ellandha village, got admitted to the hospital on Friday and C-section was performed on her on Saturday
Warangal Rural: A 24-year-old woman from Ellandha village of Wardhannapet mandal gave birth to a baby girl weighing 5-kg at the State-run 30-bed Community Health Centre (CHC) in Wardhannapet on Saturday. A normal baby’s weight is around 3-kg at birth.
Speaking to ‘Telangana Today’, superintendent Dr Bethi Narsimha Swamy, an anesthetist, said that Bodduna Jhansi (24), wife of Rajesh, of Ellandha village, got admitted to the hospital on Friday and C-section was performed on her on Saturday. “Both the mother and child are doing well,” he said.
Wardhannpet created a record in the State by performing the highest number (210) of deliveries in April 2019. “More than 800 deliveries were performed at our hospital in the last six months,” Dr Swamy added. Dr Somashekar, a surgeon, Rajitha, a staff nurse, Bhaskar, Nayeem, Nagaraju, Swathi and others took part in the surgery.
