Nalgonda: A woman allegedly killed her two children, including a 10-month-old baby and a two-year-old boy, before ending her life at Golligudem village in Bibinagar mandal.

According to police, Mekala Mahesh Yadav was married to Aishwarya and the couple had frequent quarrels over various issues. Their differences reportedly escalated over the past six months, following which Aishwarya went to her parents’ house and stayed there for some time.

Family members counselled her and brought her back to her husband’s house on Monday. However, she was said to be mentally disturbed during the night and allegedly smothered the two children with a pillow. She later hanged herself from the ceiling.

On being alerted by locals, the police reached the spot and shifted the bodies for postmortem. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
