Mulugu: A Maoist party member, Madakam Hidema (21) of Tettam village in Katekalyan mandal of Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh State surrendered before the police on Saturday.
Disclosing the details at a press meet here on Sunday, ASP Potharaju Sai Chaitanya said that Hidema, who had been residing at Togugudem of Palvancha mandal in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, joined the Maoist party as she was attracted to their lectures and cultural activities in 2015. She married Kovasi Deva, the commander of Dummugudem dalam.
“Meanwhile, she surrendered before Pasra SI Gadda Ravinder on Saturday evening as she was vexed with the Maoist party activities,” the ASP added. Pasra CI Anumula Srinivas and Trainee SI Suram Mounika Reddy were present.
