Woman, son among 10 ganja smugglers arrested in Kothagudem
A statement from Excise Enforcement director VB Kamalasan Reddy here on Tuesday said the substance was seized under Bhadrachalam excise police station limits.
Excise police seized 319 kg ganja and arrested ten smugglers in Kothagudem district.
Kothagudem: Excise police seized 319 kg ganja and arrested 10 smugglers, including a woman and her son in different cases in the district.
A statement from Excise Enforcement director VB Kamalasan Reddy here on Tuesday said the substance was seized under Bhadrachalam excise police station limits. In a case related to smuggling of 100 kg ganja from the Odisha border, a woman Neralla Aparna and her son N Akhil of Kothapalli in Peddapalli district were caught. Aparna’s husband Sadaiah was in jail after being arrested in a ganja case.
Notorious ganja smugglers, Munawar Ali of Nizamabad and Dattu Panchal of Begum Bazaar in Hyderabad were arrested, besides Shakti Rahul and Gopishetty Akshith of Bala Nagar in Hyderabad; Ganesh and Shekar Chowdary of Malkangiri, Odisha; B Mahesh of Guntur and Ch Dinesh of Bapatla, AP.
The worth of seized ganja was Rs 79.75 lakh. Two cars and a couple of two-wheelers worth Rs 21 lakh were also seized, the statement added.
