Woman survives after hair gets stuck under moving lorry in Karimnagar
According to local people, a resident of Kellada of Manakondur mandal, Divyasree fell on the road accidentally when she was travelling on a two-wheeler along with her husband and two children.
Karimnagar: In a freak accident, a woman nearly lost her life after her hair got stuck under a moving lorry near Singapur in the outskirts of Huzurabad on Monday.
According to local people, a resident of Kellada of Manakondur mandal, Divyasree fell on the road accidentally when she was travelling on a two-wheeler along with her husband and two children. Even before she could get up, a lorry moving alongside them passed over her hair, following which the hair got stuck onto a rod near the rear wheel of the lorry. Without noticing it, the driver drove the vehicle ahead a little, dragging her along.
With the woman and local people raising an alarm, the driver fortunately stopped the vehicle without running over her. union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who was passing by, stopped his convoy and helped the locals free Divyasree from under the lorry. Sanjay Kumar stopped another lorry passing by and got a screw jack and scissors, using which the woman was rescued. With the lorry dragging her for a few metres, Divyasree suffered a few injuries, following which she was shifted to a private hospital in Karimnagar.
