Nagarkurnool: A 25-year-old pregnant woman took the Group II examination while suffering labour pains at Zilla Parishad High School in the town on Monday.

A resident of Banala under Balmur mandal, Revathi arrived at the examination centre for taking the exam. As Revathi started writing answers, she developed labour pains. Worried about Revathi’s health condition, the staff at the school wanted to shift her to the hospital but she did not agree and insisted on writing the examination, according to reports.

Earlier, doctors had also informed that delivery could happen on Monday. When the matter was informed to District Collector Santosh by the school staff, he directed officials to deploy a 108 ambulance at the examination centre as a precautionary measure.

Revathi’s husband and mother-in-law were also at the examination centre. However, she completed the examination and left the centre, reports said.
