Woman throws two children into stream, attempts suicide in Medak

Finding it difficult to make ends meet, Mamatha decided to end her life after killing her two children. She threw her two daughters into the Haldi Vagu on Monday.

Medak: A woman allegedly threw her two children into the Haldi Vagu and jumped into the stream at Islampur in Toopran mandal on Monday. Locals rescued the mother, but could not save the two children.

According to the police, Mamatha (30) was living with her parents at Danthanpally in Shivvampet mandal after the demise of her husband. Finding it difficult to make ends meet, Mamatha decided to end her life after killing her two children. She threw her two daughters into the Haldi Vagu on Monday.

Locals, who saw this, rushed to the spot and managed to rescue Mamatha. They retrieved the bodies of the two children.

The police have registered a case. The bodies were shifted to the government hospital in Toopran for postmortem.
