Woman ties baby to waist, jumps to death in river in Mahabubnagar
Mahabubnagar: In a heart wrenching incident, a mother tied six month old baby to her waist in the saree and jumped into a river in Midjil mandal, unable to bear the alleged harassment of her husband.
According to reports, Saritha along with her daughter Bhumika, had left the house two days back. Using the saree, she tied her daughter around her waist and committed suicide by jumping into the river on the village outskirts.
The bodies of both the mother and her daughter surfaced on Thursday morning. Locals identified the duo and fished out the bodies. More details are awaited.
