PEDDAPALLI: A woman touched the feet of local MPDO, pleading with her to sanction her a house under the Indiramma housing scheme during a gram sabha held in Penchikalpet of Kamanpur mandal on Wednesday.

The woman, whose name was not in the eligible beneficiaries list, touched the feet of MPDO Lalitha requesting her to sanction the house.

On the other hand, people registered their protest in IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu’s own Kataram mandal. They alleged that people with land and property were being selected for welfare schemes while the poor were being denied any benefits under government schemes.
