Women receive skill certificates under ‘Gift a Smile’ initiative

Around 500 women received certificates after completing free tailoring and beautician training under the 'Gift a Smile' initiative organised by the Telangana Women's Association. BRS leaders highlighted the importance of skill development and women's economic empowerment during the programme

Hyderabad: Around 500 women who completed free tailoring and beautician training received certificates under the ‘Gift a Smile’ initiative organised by the Telangana Women’s Association at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday to mark the 50th birthday of BRS working president KT Rama Rao.

Addressing the gathering, former minister Satyavathi Rathod said skill development would help women become financially independent and lead self-reliant lives. She highlighted several welfare initiatives introduced during the BRS government for women, including Kalyana Lakshmi, Arogya Lakshmi, KCR Kits, Nutrition Kits, Bathukamma sarees, Aasara pensions, Kanti Velugu, ration cards, double-bedroom houses and Dalit Bandhu.

Former Zilla Parishad chairman Tula Uma said women felt safer during the BRS regime, attributing it to initiatives such as SHE Teams. She urged women to make use of available opportunities and excel in education, employment and politics while striving for economic independence.
