Women Safety Wing launches Sthree Ride in Hyderabad to boost women empowerment

The Women Safety Wing launched 'Sthree Ride' to promote women’s empowerment and economic independence through driving careers. In the first phase, women riders, auto drivers and a cab driver received specialised training and employment support from mobility service providers.

Hyderabad: The Women Safety Wing on Saturday launched ‘Sthree Ride’, a programme aimed at promoting women’s empowerment and economic independence through driving careers.

In the first phase, 50 women bike riders, four auto drivers and one cab driver received specialised training and job support through partnerships with mobility service providers.


Speaking at the launch, DGP CV Anand said women’s safety, empowerment and skill development remained key priorities and encouraged women to pursue opportunities in the transport sector.

He assured participants of police support and emphasised the importance of family encouragement in helping women succeed.

Senior officials, including Women Safety Wing DG Charu Sinha, were present.
