Women steal gold ornaments from elderly woman in Telangana’s Jagtial

Two women approached Gajelli Lakshmi on the pretext of examining her Aadhaar card, and fled with the valuables

JAGTIAL: Unidentified women stole gold ornaments from an elderly woman in Utpalli of Kathalapur mandal on Wednesday.

According to villagers, two women approached Gajelli Lakshmi, who was staying home alone, on the pretext of examining her Aadhaar card. They fled with seven tolas of gold ornaments including a chain, earrings and other valuables.

Lakshmi raised an alarm, following which neighbours rushed in. However, the women managed to escape without being caught.

SI Naveen Kumar visited the spot and enquired about the incident. He said CCTV footage was being examined to identify the miscreants.
