Hyderabad: Finance Minister T Harish Rao said the State government will take up construction of Sangameshwara and Basaweshwara lift irrigation schemes in Sangareddy shortly.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will lay foundation stone for the projects, he said during Question Hour in the State Assembly here on Friday.
The Minister said Sangameshwara project would be taken up at a cost of Rs 2,653 crore and would cater to an ayacut of 2.19 lakh acres and Basaweshwara project would be taken up at a cost of Rs 1,774 crore and would cater to 1.65 lakh acres.
