Hyderabad: A woman associate manager working for a private bank, who attempted to die by suicide by jumping from a multi-storey building at Bachupally on Thursday, succumbed to injuries in hospital on Friday.
Work pressure is suspected to be the reason for the suicide. K Satya Lavanya (32), a native of Pithapuram in Andhra Pradesh, lived with her husband B Veera Mohan and in-laws in an apartment at KCR Colony in Bachupally. She worked at a bank in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in the neighbourhood.
According to the police, Lavanya had shared with her friends and relatives about her work pressure and not being able to cope with it. The family had been preparing to go to their native place for Sankranti.
On Thursday evening, after returning home from work, Lavanya, in the absence of her family, jumped off the apartment terrace. She suffered grievous bleeding injuries. Neighbours rushed her to a nearby private hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment on Friday.
The Bachupally police said the case was being probed from all possible angles.
