Hyderabad: World Wildlife Day was celebrated at Nehru Zoological Park here on Wednesday. On this occasion, drawing and poster making competitions were conducted on the theme ‘Reason for wildlife destruction’ along with plantation programme.
About 30 visitors participated in the drawing and poster making competition and 25 took part in the tree plantation programme. Prizes were awarded to the winners.
Zoo curator, V V L Subhadra Devi, said the zoo has been in the forefront in promoting wildlife education and appealed to the citizens to come forward and take part in conserving and protecting wildlife by contributing liberally in the form of adoptions.
