Hyderabad: A Class 10 student died, allegedly by hanging, in his house at Bhudevi Nagar in Alwal in the early hours of Friday. He is suspected to have been depressed over his poor performance in studies, police said.
The boy, K. Arun (16), hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his bedroom on the first floor, when his parents were fast asleep in the adjacent room. They woke up in the morning and knocked on the door of his room. When there was no response from inside, they forcibly opened it and found Arun hanging. They immediately loosened the noose and tried to shift him to the nearby hospital, but he had died by then, officials said.
According to the Alwal police, enquiries with his parents and friends suggested he was a bit weak in academics and was worried about his future. He was visibly depressed for the last few days. However, no suicide note was found at the spot. A case of suspicious death was booked and is being investigated. The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy.
