The boy, K. Arun (16), hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his bedroom on the first floor, when his parents were fast asleep in the adjacent room.

Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar said that as decided earlier the Class 10 board examinations will be conducted only for two days.

The decision follows a review meeting on Thursday that chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had with education department officials.

The board had earlier announced that the entire exercise of tabulation of marks will be completed by June 11 and the result will be declared by June 20.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said that for class 12-science stream, the May 13 physics exam will now be held on June 8.
