Wreath-laying ceremony marks 78th Indian Army Day in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: On the occasion of ‘78th Indian Army Day’, a wreath laying ceremony was organised at War Memorial, 1 EME Centre, Secunderabad under the aegis of Headquarters Telangana and Andhra Sub Area.
Major General Ajay Misra, General Officer Commanding, Telangana & Andhra Sub Area and other senior officers of all ranks paid homage to those who made the supreme sacrifice to uphold the honour and pride of the country.
Indian Army Day is celebrated on the anniversary of the Indian Army’s first Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal KM Cariappa, who took over in 1949 & commissioning of the Indian Army’s first Indian contingent. It’s a day to celebrate the bravery, selflessness, and steadfast dedication of the Indian Army to preserving the security of the country.
The occasion commemorated the soldier’s solemn pledge to our fallen brethren to uphold their legacy and bring glory to the country.
