Hyderabad: A special court in Nalgonda on Monday sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping and cheating a widow on the promise to marry in Bhongir Town in 2015. The court also imposed a fine of Rs.50,000 on him.
The convicted person, M Kondal (24), a construction worker from Hanumapuram village of Bhongir got acquainted with the 23-year-old victim, who already had two children and on the promise to marry, raped her several times. When she asked him about their marriage, Kondal refused and avoided her. Based on her complaint, the Bhongir Town police booked a case and arrested Kondal.
