Hyderabad: Family members of 43-year-old housewife Kallepalli Upendra, a resident of Ramojipeta, Yadgirigutta, who was declared brain dead by a team of doctors, have donated her organs to needy patients under the State-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative.
On November 16, Kallepalli Upendra was returning home along with her husband Kallepalli Ilaiah on a two-wheeler when they were hit by a car. In the accident, both fell down and sustained injuries.
They were shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad but after emergency treatment, the health condition of the housewife did not improve. The doctors declared her brain dead on November 25.
